What is Michigan EBT Bridge Card?
It is a debit card that you can use to get your State Food Stamps benefits. If you’re low income in Michigan, you can go to apply for the Food Stamps assistance program, which can help you save money on purchase of food items. If you’re approved by the program, each month your Food Stamp benefits are automatically deposited into the Bridge Card they assigned to you. Then you can use the card to buy food like an ATM card. You can visit www.Michigan.gov/mibridges to apply for Food Stamps and Bridge Card online.
You may use your card to withdraw cash benefits at any ATM with the Quest sign. You cannot get cash from your food benefit account. You can make up to four withdrawals a month without having to pay a transaction fee. You will have to pay a transaction fee for each ATM withdrawal after the fourth one in a month. Please note, food and cash benefits unused for a year will be returned to the State or Federal goverment.

I applied for my Bridge card and received notification, dated 8/24/2012 from Oakland CO DHS Saginaw Street Dist, Pontiac MI 48342 that I was approved for food assistance, beginning and available on the 7th of every month. It is 9/10/2012 and I still haven’t received my Bridge card. I have tried to call my Specialist, Ms. T Dinkins, and all I ever get is her voice mail or her mail is full and I cannot leave a message. When you are unable to reach your caseworker and you’ve waited 24 hours for a call back, you can contract your state representative about it and usually your caseworker will call you back relatively quickly.
