What is California LifeLine Telephone Program?
California LifeLine (www.CaliforniaLifeline.com) is a discounted telephone service program which provides discounted basic telephone (landline) services to eligible California households. You can qualify for the program if you are enrolled in any one of the following public assistance programs: Medicaid/Medi-Cal, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Supplemental Security Income, Federal Public Housing Assistance, Women, Infants and Children Program, Healthy Families Category A, and more. If you are qualified for the program, you can contact phone company to begin the application process. After being approved, you will receive the application form with a PIN number in a PINK envelope in the mail within 3 weeks. Once you receive it, go to www.CaliforniaLifeline.com/online, then you can register online using the PIN provided.
If you’re already a member and want to renew your application, you also need to go to the website and renew online using the PIN found from the renew form.
To apply for the Federal Lifeline discounts, just go to www.californialifeline.com/federallifeline and follow the instructions to complete your application form.
