If you’re an owner of 2005-2008 Model Year Toyota Corolla and Corolla Matrix vehicle with 1ZZ-FE engines, you should be noticed this new recall message. Toyota is recalling approximately 1.13 million these models vehicles in the United States because some Electronic Control Modules (ECMs) on the involved vehicles may have been improperly manufactured.

It is possible that a crack may develop at certain solder points or on the electronic component used to protect circuits against excessive voltage (varistor) on the ECM’s circuit boards. There are three accidents and one minor injury have been reported related to the issue.
